Colgate-Palmolive India's 'Smiles for Life' CSR program facilitates corrective surgeries for cleft lip and cleft palate in children and young adults, in collaboration with NGO Mission Smile. Under this program, Colgate-Palmolive has supported over 2195 cleft surgeries across 10 states to date. The company is planning additional surgeries in Goa between 18-20 February 2024. The three-day comprehensive Cleft surgical camp will start with screening, followed by cleft surgeries through a team of medical experts in Plastic Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Anaesthesiology, Paediatrics, Dentistry, Speech Language Pathology, and Nursing from across the country. Wisdom Hospital, Panjim in Goa, is hosting this mission and providing infrastructure support, including Operation Theatre, Recovery Ward, Post-operative Wards, along with their support of doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff during the mission period.

Rohan Khaunte in the presence of Director, Tonia Group, Mario Sequeira, Indian Navy Retired, Mr Anant Joshi, Brand Ambassador of Air India Express Corporate Sports League and Indian badminton player, Anura Prabhudesai, Director, Goalz Events Pvt Ltd, Mr Swarjeet Salagode, and Director, Evergreen County Coorg, Mr Bajan Bopanna, at the Grand Kadamba Hotel in Porvorim.

Corporates from all over India will get an opportunity to engage in sports like 5-A-Side football tournaments and badminton in the Air India Express Corporate Sports League. The unveiling of official football, trophies and jerseys will be unveiled on 27th January at the hands of the Honourable Tourism Minister of Goa, Shri Rohan Khaunte. The qualifiers will be held in 8 cities namely Goa, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Trivandrum and Bengaluru. The corporates will have to log on to www.goalzunlimited.com for registrations.
AIR INDIA EXPRESS CORPORATE SPORTS LEAGUE
One of the oldest sports clubs in Goa, Associacao Academica de Moira in its maiden run for funds for their club and society held the Saturday Market with a live band and food court and a wide array of homegrown products was showcased. The objective of the event was a duel, one to promote the club and second to promote local talent and young entrepreneurs of Moira.

Marnekaar’s Cultural And Social Association (MCSA), is dedicated to the upliftment of the underprivileged and development works in Marna, Siolim. “Goenkarancho Swadik Tallo” aims to bridge the cultural gap and revive the true Goan spirit. A breezy Sunday evening was just the right setting for Goenkarancho Swadik Tallo, a musical extravaganza hosted by Marnekaar’s Cultural and Social Association, to celebrate the vibrant traditions that make Goa. A fundraising event to celebrate music, graced by William Fernandes (MSCA President), Chief Guests Michael and Delilah Lobo (Hon’ble MLAs Calangute and Siolim Constituencies), Guests of Honour Rev Fr. Soccoro Mendes and Rev Fr. Francisco Barreto (Parish Priest and Asst. Parish Priest at St. Anthony Church Siolim)- the event was a feast even for those who weren’t locals. Several mind-blowing and thoroughly entertaining traditional Goan music performances by bands like Porta Musica Studios, from Siolim, Goa and even Mumbai- all of whom got the crowd bobbing to their beat. One could tell that the artists were seasoned performers who loved every second on stage. As were the kids present at the event, who couldn’t resist getting off their chairs to sway. Apart from the music, there were humorous performances by voice artists, church games like Housie and food stalls buzzing with their assortment of crowd favourites like fish cutlets and brownies. The homeliness, the harmonious management of the event, and the prominent quality of Konkani music had the elders smiling and kids dancing— making it wholesome and the place to be.
